Exciting Things Ahead In 2011

All of us in the New Journey Quartet are excited as a new year begins! We so look forward to seeing all of our friends at our concerts.

New bookings are coming in now and if you've never hosted New Journey in concert, we'd love to come your way! We enjoy singing in churches, restaurants, concert halls and wherever the Lord leads!

It is our belief that God great uses the gospel music ministry to lead the lost to "Him" as well as refresh those who may be out of touch.

New Journey QT. comes on a "Love Offering Basis" because the Lord has allowed us to do so. Many churches think they cannot afford groups this large but its simply not so. Give us a call today, we'd love to share with you what all the Lord has done!

God Bless,

Changes In The Group

Just wanted to let everyone know that with sadness, our bass player of many year, Mike "Catfish" Puett has decided to step down due to schooling and family time issues. We completely understand and wish Mike the very best in his future endeavors. Thanks Mike for all of your years of service to God and to the New Journey Quartet!

Our drummer Mike Shew has stepped up and filled the bass guitar slot and is doing it quite well! We really had no idea how good of an electric bass player he is until practice one night and all of us were left with our jaws hitting the floor! Thanks Mike for being so willing to step up to the plate whenever we need you...God will bless you for it!

A special thing has happened for Angie & I...our son Dillon has stepped into the role of full time drummer for New Journey and we are so proud! He's being playing a few songs on each set with us for several years, but the Lord really worked this one out for us...and what a blessing to have our son playing side by side with us...God is so good! And yes, all those years of drum lessons and loud banging at our house really did pay off! :)

New Journey is moving forward as we feel led by God's will for our lives. Time grows short and we must be busy spreading God's message of salvation & love through word and song. We look forward to seeing you at a concert soon..keep New Journey in our prayers and may God richly bless you!

Sincerely,

Merry Christmas!

We're not ashamed to wish you a Merry Christmas from all of us in the New Journey Qt! Christmas is that most wonderful time of year when we have the "Honor" of praising our Lord for what he has done for us!

Yes, everything else is nice, the trees, Santa and all of that, but the most important thing and the "Reason for the Season" is Jesus Christ. This same Jesus who is alive today came to Earth over 2000 years ago as a babe..and who later grew up to give his life for you and me that we might have "Eternal Life" by & through his shed blood! Because of his sacrifice, we now have the way to Heaven if we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior!

What better Christmas gift could we give someone than to lead them to Jesus this Christmas season...heaven's bells will be ringing and the angels will be rejoicing! Now thats the kind of Christmas carol I like to hear...

We wish each and everyone a safe, prosperous and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Yours in Christ,

Bill Warren

Harrisburg Baptist Church - Nice Folks!

Just got in from another good concert with our friends at Harrisburg Baptist Church of Lenoir. These folks are always so nice to us and go out of their way to make us feel at home.

We missed Rita & Phillip tonight as they were on vacation, so I got to do triple duty as soundman, alto singer and my normal stuff...but I'm not complaining, God's been kind to me and I'm just grateful that he gives me the opportunity like this to serve him.

When Angie sang Redeemer, the altar started filling up and that always gives us a great feeling of accomplishment....it is just like the Lord saying, you've done what I sent you guys to do!

The crowd seemed to like our two new songs this evening as well. We added "God Bless the USA" of Lee Greenwood fame, especially since its the 4th of July week coming up and we also added a very up tempo classic called "Temporary Home" that really grooves with the beat!

God continues to bless us and has been so good....we're really looking forward to going to Maggie Valley in 2 weeks to perform at Pride Resort and Pride Church. Angie & I stopped by there yesterday on our way thru the area and the resort is gorgeous...can't wait to go!

Thats all for now and I wish each of you a happy 4th of July week!

God Bless,

Fun Time At Dove Broadcasting

Well, needless to say, if you watched this video, you know we had a barrell of fun on our way to performing on TBN affiliate program "Niteline" by Dove Broadcasting in Greenville, SC.

We got to Greenville a little early so we had time to stop at a huge music store while the girl's shopped a bit. After all that, Mikey...our bass player decided it was time to eat, so you can see what happened to him on the video...its a riot!

I hope many of you got to watch the program...it was great! We learned about biblical health principles as well as getting to perform.

The Holy Spirit was definitely there and as always, the Dove Broadcast crew made us very comfortable and we felt right at home!

Thats all for now...'til next time...may God richly bless you!

Sincerely,

Bill Warren

Great Day At Covenant Baptist

What a great day its been! We had a wonderful service and concert at our home church, "Covenant Baptist" of Granite Falls, NC this morning. Thanks pastor David for having us at "home"...it was nice!

It was great to see people following the call of the Holy Spirit and seeing the altar fill up with souls getting down to business with God! It truly touched my heart...to see obedience like this!

Tommorrow is going to be a busy day for NJQ as well. We're leaving in the afternoon to drive down to Greenville, SC to make an appearance on the Dove Broadcast Network (an Affiliate of Trinity Broadcasting). The folks there always treat us so fine and its a great blessing to be able to share our ministry over such a large audience of North & South Carolina and Lord only knows where else.

Pray for us that we have a safe journey as we'll be taking our new van God blessed us with for this trip. We're really excited to be making our first, full blown trip in it and can't wait to finally all get to travel together as one!

Enough for now, I've got to turn in for the evening. May God Bless you and we hope to see you at a New Journey Concert real soon!

Thanks,

Bill Warren

Another Year - Let The Concerts Begin!

Sorry to take so long to have posted anything new, but after having a bad virus for the last 3 weeks...I've just not been able to.  However, all is well and myself along with several members of the group who've been sick are feeling much better!  We're really excited about the prospects for ministry in 2009!  The Lord has already opened several new doors for us in new areas to spread God's word in song.

As a friend of mine in the ministry often says, "You can have as much of God as you want" and trust...I'll take all I can get.   It just seems the more you do for him, the more he blesses and the more opportunities he gives to those who are ready and willing.

New Journey has many exciting things happening in 2009...a new video, a new recording project on the way and hopefully, we'll be coming to an area near you!  We hope to see you on the concert trail this year....remember, we go where we're invited and if you'd like to host us for a concert, give me a call at 828-726-1143.

God Bless,

To The Beach & Back

This past weekend we had the opportunity to travel just outside of Myrtle Beach, SC with the group. One of our friend's group, "The Blood Bought Trio" was unable to fufill a date because it looks like group leader & pianist Jacob Crisp is going to play piano for "The Hoppers". Good luck Jacob - we know you'll do us proud!

Fortunately for us, we were able to fulfill the date and step in for them and in doing so, got to meet gospel music promoter Danny Caudle...what a nice guy! Danny, had us at his home church, McMillan Memorial Baptist in Mullins, SC. This church went out of their way to treat us as "Old Friends" and made us feel so comfortable! The preaching was great, the concert went off without a hitch and the Lord got all the glory! Let me tell you, our stomachs look glorified after the way McMillan Baptist fed us....needless to say, our truck was traveling a little lower on the shocks on the way home!! ha,ha

It looks like Brother Danny is going to be using New Journey more in his area and what a blessing that is for our ministry to be able to go into a different area! We've been praying for something like this to happen and look what God does...he'll drop it in your lap when you least expect it! We look forward to working with Bro. Danny in the future and traveling and spreading the gospel where God has expanded our boundaries!

'Til Next Time...

New Journey Quartet In Mooresboro, NC

Many thanks go to High Shoals Baptist Church in Mooresboro, NC for hosting us this past Sunday morning. Pastor Micheal Pardue and congregation were all superb hosts and man can them ladies cook!! Of course, we had a special service with New Journey bringing a message in song and Pastor Micheal bringing us the preached word...what a one-two punch for God!

Let me back up for a minute and tell you what a time we had getting to Mooresboro! We started around 6:30 am and finally got there about 9:30! We got a bit lost on the way...Mooresboro isn't the end of the earth, but you sure can see the end from there! Its times like this that I'm glad we had GPS navigating both global positioning systems and God's positioning system!

Pray for our alto singer's car, it broke down on the way, but luckily we had enough room in the other vehicles to fit her, Phillip and Mike....you see, even though the devil tried to hinder us...God always makes a way!
This sunday night at 6pm, the New Journey Quartet will be in Spruce Pine, NC (on top of some of the prettiest mountains) at First Freewill Baptist Church. Come out and join us along with Pastor Ralph and his congregation, some of the liveliest and nicest people you'll ever meet...until then....Onward Christian Soldiers!
